Reading Messages
Now that you've created an account, you'll probably want to explore the board a little bit. You'll notice that you're currently in the room named Lobby. The "" tells you that you're at a normal room prompt.
From here, you'll be able to enter all sorts of commands. For a brief list of them, you only have to look directly above the prompt. Several commonly used commands are listed here. When in doubt, you can always hit the '?' key and get a list of the commands that are available to you.
To begin with, we'll do the most basic command of all, and the one that'll be the most common: the (N)ew Messages command.
When you do a (N)ew Messages, it'll display all the messages you haven't yet seen in the current room. If there's more than a screenful of messages, it'll pause and wait for you with a MORE prompt of some type. Whenever you see the MORE prompt, you can hit any key to make it continue, or hit (S)top to stop reading.
When you're done reading the messages, it'll drop you back at the room prompt. If you missed something and want to read them again, you can (F)orward read, or (R)everse read. (F)orward read starts with the first message in the room and works its way towards the last, and (R)everse read starts with the last message and works its way towards the first.
