Posting Messages

So, now you've read some messages, and feel the urge to add to the conversation. To begin, simply (E)nter a message.

After you've hit (E)nter a message, type away with whatever you'd like to say. When you're done, simply hit "Enter" twice. (Note: If you want to separate paragraphs by a blank line, you'll need to enter a space on that blank line. Otherwise, BeBS will see two "Enter"s in a row, and think that you're done with the message.)

After you hit "Enter" twice, you'll be presented with a prompt. From this prompt, you can:

(S)ave. This will save your message for all to see and return you to the room prompt.

(A)bort. Maybe you didn't like what you typed all that much. You can (A)bort your entry, and it won't show up.

(C)ontinue. You can pick up right where you left off. It'll even print out your message so far so you can remember where you were.

(P)review. This will print out your message as it will appear, so you can make sure it's right before you post.

(R)eplace. This will let you replace a string of letters. Type the word or words you want to replace, and press "Enter." Then type the replacement string, and press "Enter" again. Now you can (P)review again, to see if it's correct.

R(E)place all. You can replace all instances of a string of letters; like, if you typed "BEBS" several times and want to change it to "BeBS," use R(E)place all, entering "BEBS" as the string to be replaced, and "BeBS" as the string to replace it with.

The Mail Room

If you (E)nter a message from the Mail room (you can read the section below to find out how to get to other rooms if you don't already know how), it will prompt you for a user to send it to before letting you post. Messages in the Mail room can only be seen by you and the person you specify. Not even the Sysop has access to these!
